Cyberknights Part 4

You are at last mine. Dominique laughed wickedly as she was about to touch the Witchblade gauntlet and take it from Sara’s corpse… only to find the hand grab her, making Dominique curse, Damn you Pezzini! Why can’t you stay dead!

What suddenly sprung forth from the metal and masonry that had covered Sara Pezzini was… and was not Sara Pezzini. It was her body, but now it was covered in a silver gray organic looking metal that covered her legs, arms and torso. It fit her snugly, like how a Ranger suit would fit on a female Ranger. Her face was covered by this same metal but not her hair, which flowed freely down and looked almost alive now. Suddenly, the lips curved into a smile and her eyes opened, only to reveal a set of rubies in the place of eyes, I’m sorry. Sara Pezzini is not in at the moment, the woman spoke in a voice that was Sara Pezzini’s and yet it wasn’t. There was a darkness to it as well as a voice that sounded like it came from ancient times.

What… what the hell is this? Dominique gasped as she looked at this, What have you done to my weapon Pezzini?

Sara can’t answer you right now whore, the woman said as she brought her hands down and suddenly her knuckle blade came out on her right hand. And by the way, not only do I not belong to you, I was revolted to have ever been USED by a piece of gutter trash like you.

What did you call me?! Dominique shouted.

You heard me right whore, because that is what you are. A whore, the woman that had been Sara Pezzini said with a coldness and darkness that Dominique would have never thought possible, You, for what little of the bloodline you have within you, are a disgrace. No. A disgrace is giving you too much… she narrowed her eyes as took another step forward and breathed so softly only Dominique could hear the words. You are an er’th’ualth. An abomination.

That was the straw that broke the camel’s back, RAHHHHH!!! Dominique screamed as she let loose soul lightning at the woman but she simply held her hand out and the lightning passed right over her. Dominique couldn’t believe it. What… what the hell… that’s impossible!

Nothing is impossible for us. We are one. The woman said.

What are you? Dominique spat.

I do not have a name in your language that you can even speak of, so instead you may call me by the name of my first wielder, suddenly two metal pieces came out from behind her shoulders, looking useless, until suddenly fire exploded from them, creating two wings of pure white hot fire. Which to the shock of all, were allowing her to fly. She stared down at Dominique with contempt, I am Aria.

By Dagda… Rohan gasped as he saw the full power of the Witchblade. Torc didn’t have a chance to capitalize this time as a blast sent him flying into a wall. Larson was also distracted allowing Lara to gain the upper hand and give a leg sweep to the back of Larson’s leg. Larson landed hard on the ground and Lara grabbed the Phoenix sword. Looks like you’re not collecting your bounty. She said as she hit Larson in the head with the hilt of the sword, knocking him unconscious. You don’t mind if I hold on to this do you? You aren’t going to need it after all.

Dominique saw Larson’s defeat but her attention was focused on Aria, who raised her right hand as fire came forth through out the chamber, scorching and obliterating the metal snake and vaporizing the magical dust but Deirdre didn’t have a single burn on her.

NO!!! Dominique screeched as she tried to attacked the advanced bladewielder with her powers but they were to no avail, especially now.

Dominique was defeated and she knew it. Aria looked down at her with her hands around her throat. However, Dominique was surprised to see the eyes change. From red to blue.

Hello Dominique. Tell me. How did you like seeing the full power of the Witchblade?

Pezzini… Dominique breathed.

This is not yours and you have heard it straight from the horse’s mouth itself, Sara growled, her blue eyes shining down at Dominique, I’m not afraid of it anymore and I am not like you. Ever come after me or my friends again, I will…

You’ll what Pezzini? Dominique chuckled, Kill me? You can’t do it. You don’t have it in you. The weapon does. Not you. However to Dominique’s surprise, Sara just chuckled darkly herself.

Dominique, I thought you would have realized that there are two sides to me now. There’s the ‘angel’ of my two halves, me… the eyes suddenly changed from sapphire blue to ruby red and Dominique felt pressure around her neck, And then there’s the ‘devil’ to her angel… US! Aria growled.

Mer… cy… I-ACK!!! Dominique tried to gasp out but it only enraged Aria even further as she tightened her hold.

Show you mercy?! Aria shouted incredulously, Why should we show YOU mercy when you have shown your victims none! Why should we show YOU compassion when you have shown none to anyone! No Dominique. Today, you shall reap what you have sewn in the ground soaked in the blood of your victims… starting now! It was then that fire erupted and consumed both of them.

What’s happening?! Rohan asked Lara shook her head saying she didn’t know, but Lara thought about all the Witchblade was capable of and thought that she could understand a bit what was going on. Deirdre knew as well. Somehow she knew what was happening in that fire. Something in her soul told her. Somehow Sara was sending scorching flame into Domonique’s soul as the pain Domonique had given throughout her life was returning tenfold to her. All this Deirdre knew… and she knew why she knew as well.

For Deirdre was destined to be the next wielder. She was chosen to fulfill her mother’s legacy.

When the fire had ended, all that was left was Sara Pezzini standing without her Witchblade armor but with the gauntlet mode set. She stood up, devoid of scars and burns and looked down at Dominique, whose body had been scorched and burned by the purity of the fires. No longer did she show any beauty, only ugliness.

I let you go without any thing to remember me by the last time and you murdered nineteen people because of it, Sara hissed as she put her face right in front of Dominique’s who was indeed afraid for her life. Consider this your one and only warning. I’m done playing other people’s games. Yours and Irons. You try to come after me or my friends one more time Dominique, I swear as god as my witness… I will kill you. She walked away from Dominique, satisfied that she had finished that part of her life off once and for all.

By… Dagda… Rohan muttered, not believing what he had just witness. He knew that the Witch’s Glove was powerful… but what he had just seen done. No words came to his mouth to say to Sara as she walked past him.

When she reached Lara, she stopped walking but Lara put her hand on Sara’s shoulder, You had no choice. Against Dominique you had to go all out. Sara nodded but that didn’t make her feel any better. Quantum Ranger then appeared and walked up to her and said, Look at it this way. If you’re afraid of the power that you have, chances are you won’t dare to misuse it. You’ll treat it with responsibility, and not let anyone misuse it, or let it be misused. Not by Dominique. Not by Irons. Not by anyone.

Thanks. Sara said just as Quantum Ranger turned her to face Deirdre who still hung suspended by energon chains. Lara, Sara, Rohan and Quantum Ranger cut down Deirdre from the energon chains that bound her. Get Deirdre out of here. Quantum Ranger said to Rohan. I’ve got business to attend to.

Rohan nodded and soon he, Deirdre, Lara and Sara made tracks before he could recover. Quantum Ranger watched them leave and decided that she needed to keep her own appointment.

She had a challenge to accept, from Maeve.

At Temra Castle Maeve had dismounted from her steed quickly and raced to her chambers hoping to take inventory of her magical talismans. She would need their power in case the witch she saw came for her.

She defeated Tyrune. I will not be so easy to beat! Maeve vowed as she found her staff laying nearby. However the next thing she saw was a falcon coming at her clawing at her eyes. Maeve waved her arms trying to shoo the falcon away, or out a nearby window. AHHHHH GETAWAY BIRD!!! she shouted. Maeve didn’t need to after a while as the falcon flew away of its own accord. As Maeve’s vision cleared she heard a voice saying QUANTUM POWER!!! and soon the Quantum Knight appeared before her.

How did you get in here? What do you want? Maeve asked. Quantum Ranger said nothing as she slowly advanced towards Maeve. You want to see my power Maeve? Quantum Ranger asked with a taste of venom in her voice as she spoke to the Temra Queen. As Mider told you, be careful what you wish for.

Maeve’s eyes went wide when she heard that, But… but how could you have?

I am everywhere, Quantum Ranger smirked under her helmet. But let’s go someplace where you’ll more at home. Quantum Ranger waved her arms into the air and soon both were teleported away. When they rematerialized they stood in the main hall of Maeve’s castle, which was very spacious and large. The Quantum Ranger had a smile under her helmet, ~ Well I do think I have some room to work with in here. If not, well I can always move things outside for a bit. ~

I will not allow myself to be intimidated by some little girl like you! Maeve declared as she fired a bolt of magic from her Ramrod staff and it hit the Quantum Ranger causing a great explosion. Maeve sneered as she saw this, So much for the great witch that Mider boasted about.

It was no boast.

WHAT?! Maeve exclaimed as heard her foe’s voice and saw her coming through the smoke.

It was the truth, the woman spoke as her form became clear to Maeve. She was dressed simple, wearing only a black cloak over her purple sorceress robes and brown leather boots. She wore no jewelry save for a golden circlet around her forehead and a golden sash around her neck. Her face was that of a young woman, not much older than that of the Princess of Kells. Dark brown hair that went to her shoulder and a pair of grey eyes, ones that seemed to stare directly into her soul.

Who… are you? Maeve asked.

I have gone by so many names over the millennia… but you may call me Karla for the purpose of this meeting. She spoke. Now then, are you truly wishing to take me on in a duel? Be forewarned, it will be a mistake.

The mistake here is you! Maeve screeched as she fired off a bolt of lightning at the other sorceress, but Karla was prepared, Valis Wall! she cried out spreading her arms out like a cross and a magical barrier came up, shielding her against the blast. Maeve stared at it wide eyed as Karla smirked holding her hand out, Now its my turn. Fireball! she flung her right hand out and a large ball of flame came rushing straight for Maeve.

Maeve however caught the fireball with her sword and stared at it. Clearly it had a feeling of power to it a power that emanated from Karla in spades. She then looked at Karla and realized something. The falcon. That was you!

Cheap parlor trick. Karla said. I knew a sorcerer who was able to teach a young boy to turn into animals. Merlin I think his name was. It’s too bad you yourself never learned that trick, especially if a child could do it. Karla’s boast cleraly irritated Maeve who hurled the fireball bolt at Karla and hit her dead in the center. Maeve had the advantage. Now she would capitalize.

DIE!!! Maeve spat as she fired off another blast at Karla, who simply held her hands out and held the blast in her hands. What?!

Power that flows from my enemies grip, become one into my hand and molded into a weapon to be used against her, Karla chanted as the energy formed into a crude looking bomb. The kind one saw Wile E. Coyote always using to try to blow up the Road Runner. Let it never be said that Karla was not without a sense of humor.

However twisted it may have been at times.

Catch. Karla smirked as she threw it at Maeve, who had the sense to move away from it, but not enough to move farther. When it touched the ground it exploded, causing Maeve to be sent backwards by the shock wave but still part of her castle floor and walls had been blown to smitherines.

Had enough yet? Karla asked as she stalked the Temra Queen, who was now becoming increasingly frustrated.

No… but you will beg for mercy once my monsters take care of you! Maeve hollered as she brought her staff up. Ice Lord! Rock Wolf! Lightning Bat! Sea Serpent! Obey your Queen and come forth! From her staff, four bolts of lightning struck the ground there came the four monsters that the Mystic Knights had to fight in order to gain their Mystic Armor. Maeve had a confident sneer on her face. Let’s see you defeat this Witch.

Karla chuckled as she looked at the four monsters that Maeve had summoned, believing that they could possibly over power Karla in a physical fight. However, Karla had no intention of fighting them hand to hand herself. Instead, she’d let her monsters fight Maeve’s… and demolish them.

These four cretins might have given the Mystic Knights trouble when they were starting out. However my monsters are by far superior to yours. Karla chuckled as she pulled out, to Maeve’s surprise four strange cards in her hands.

And just what do you think you can do with those cards? Maeve taunted.

What? Never heard of a Shadow Game before? Karla smirked.

‘Shadow Game’? Maeve blinked.

I have visited many worlds, and one of the worlds there I learned of the Shadow Games, in which wizards, sorceresses and normal mortals played games of the ultimate danger for wealth and prestige, but most of all, for power. Karla explained, And what they played with, were real monsters. Strangely enough, I found that the monsters from the Shadow Realm were fueled by the same magic that I use. So it is very easy for me to use the cards and call the monsters forth myself. Her eyes narrowed as she looked at the Queen of Temra. Now prepare yourself for my monsters!

Maeve stepped back as she watched from the four cards four different creatures appear. One was blonde elf in white green armor holding a broadsword. Another was a blue haired Japanese woman in a blue and red kimono holding a large samurai blade in her hands. The third creature was also female but was not human, rather it was a humanoid bird woman, with talons and claws in the place of feet, white feathers instead of skin, and red hair. Lastly, there was a purple haired man in purple robes holding a green mage staff.

Maeve was beyond belief when she saw these creatures emerge. What… what are they?

From left to right, Celtic Guardian, Beautiful Headhuntress, Harpie Lady, and one of my personal favorite monsters, the Dark Magician, Karla smirked.

Rrr… powers of darkness infuse my minions with power to increase their strength to destroy this witch’s creations! Maeve screamed as her monsters were given power from her staff.

Not bad, but you aren’t the only one that can power up monsters. Karla smirked as she held out five new cards, only these cards had items on them. She tossed them to her monsters, save for the Harpie Lady, which she gave two cards. Before Maeve’s eyes, the Celtic Guardian gained a newer, more powerful sword, the Beautiful Headhuntress gained a black pendant around her neck, Harpie Lady gained silver armor around her torso and a whip in her hands, lastly the Dark Magician was reading over a book before it disappeared into nothing. Now let the fight begin.

And the fight did begin with Maeve sending her monsters to go after Karla’s. Lightning Bat went after Harpie Lady, Sea Serpent against Celtic Guardian, Rock Hound went after Beautiful Headhuntress and that left the leader of four demons, Ice Lord to attack the Dark Magician.

You will die against me Elf! I have killed many creatures like you! Sea Serpent sneered as he took a shot at Celtic Guardian by attack with his water powers, however the Celtic Guardian avoided the attack went in for a strike. He cleaved off Sea Serpent’s right arm. AHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! My arm! You cut my arm off!!!

Maeve stood astonished at what had just happened. Not even the Mystic Knights went for maiming her monsters. No one ever had.

You seem to be able to bring them back over and over again if they are intact, Karla said, a dark smile crossing her face, Let’s see if you can repeat that trick when they are in bite size pieces. Her smile faded as her eyes narrowed to her monster, Celtic Guardian! Finish Sea Serpent with your new sword! Lightning Blade Slash!

Celtic Guardian let out a war cry as he sliced through Sea Serpent not once but twice. Once through the torso and then a second time through the neck. He stood there with his sword drawn until he saw Sea Serpent’s head and body fall down.

NO! Maeve gasped as she saw this. Who are you!

I told you. I am Karla, the Grey Witch said with a smile on her face, Do you wish to surrender now or later. I would say now unless you want to suffer the most embarrassing defeat you have ever been given.

Never! Maeve spat as she looked across to her other demon knights still surviving against the monsters of Karla. She noticed that the Celtic Guardian made no move at all, save for sheathing his sword. ~ She must like one on one… well I don’t enjoy that philosophy. Time to help my monsters!~ she smirked, as she had been holding her magic staff behind her back and had been charging it up for a powerful blast. This ends now! She cackled as she through her staff forward and let loose the blast , aiming for Karla’s monsters.

And yet all Karla had on her face was a smile. I’m sorry Maeve but you just activated my Trap Card.

Your what? Maeve blinked as Karla held out a purple colored card with a mirror and blast being reflected off of it. The smirk on her face couldn’t be any wider, And it’s one of my favorites. Mirror Force.

‘Mirror Force’? What does that… Maeve gasped as she saw mirror wall appear to protect Karla’s monsters and bounce the blast back… at Maeve.

Mirror Force reflects back the attack sent at my or any of my monsters back to one who sent it to begin with and you won’t even be able to run from this attack so I suggest you drop your staff, Karla smirked, Unless of course, you want to die.

NOO!!!! Maeve screeched as she left her staff and jumped out of the way just before it connected. When the smoke cleared and Maeve looked at her staff, she gasped in horror, as she saw that her staff had been damaged and its crystal cracked. NO!!! YOU BITCH!!! She spat turning her head toward Karla, who had a smirk on her face.

Why the look? Karla rolled her eyes, Knowing how this sad story will turn out, you will somehow either get it fixed within a day or get a new one with better warranty.

What are you talking about?! Maeve growled.

Karla chose to ignore her as she focused back onto the battles at hand, which were taking longer than the battle with Maeve’s Sea Serpent had taken. Of course the Dark Magician she had told to go easy on Ice Lord, though she had to admit, the other two of Maeve’s monsters were sufficient in a challenge.

The Beautiful Headhuntress blocked the attacks that she could with her giant blade and tried to attack with it, however Rock Wolf’s body was too strong even for her blade. Maeve took pleasure in that, especially when she saw the Rock Wolf knock Beautiful Headhuntress to the ground, leaving a gash in her left cheek and having knocked her blade out of her hands.

Nhaaaaaaaaa! Rock Wolf sneered, Looks like you’re going to go down first lady! Hey! I got a great idea! How about I go have some fun with you before I disembowl you just like your Elf friend did to my friend!

Don’t wait you fool! Just kill it! Maeve shouted.

Ah relax Queen Maeve! I have this one in the bag! Rock Wolf gloated though Karla’s chuckle brought him out of his mood.

Guess again, the Grey Witch smirked as she held out a new card, one that was green and a magical spiral circle on it. For now I use the power of my Polymerization Magic Card to fuse Beautiful Headhuntress with… Karla pulled out another card, only this one had a red haired woman with a music note scythe in her hands, Sonic Maid to create a whole new entity!

Suddenly before Rock Wolf’s eyes, Beautiful Headhuntress glowed white but as she did, her pendent flew off her neck and attached itself to Rock Wolf. Hey! What gives!

Since I am fusing two monsters together, the Black Pendent that was equipped to my Beautiful Headhuntress goes to the graveyard… but not before it takes a chunk out of you. Karla smirked and on cue, the pendent exploded, causing a great big dust storm to come up.

No! Rock Wolf! Maeve gasped until she saw the dust cloud part, and though there were many cracks in him, Rock Wolf was still standing.

It’s going to take more than that… to beat me… Rock Wolf muttered.

Well then how about her? Karla motioned to the emerging monster from the source of light. A Japanese woman dressed in a dark red kimono with yellow ties, her hair emerald green and tied up in the back by a red hairband and in her hands was a slender blue white blade. Behold, the Warrior of Tradition! Warrior of Tradition, Hiten Mitsurugi Slash!

The Warrior of Tradition was silent as she rushed Rock Wolf in an instant and was behind him now. As she put her sword away, he collapsed into a dust pile.

NO! This… this can’t be happening to me!!! Maeve growled. I will not allow…

Save me your boasts… Karla sighed but then a smirk came to her face. Or rather, I will save my self the time by just ending this now.

What did you say? Maeve blinked.

First to take out Lightning Bat, I will play the magic card, Elegant Egotist, which will triple my Harpie Lady into Harpie Lady Sisters! Karla declared as her new card split her Harpie Lady into not one but three different versions of itself only distinguishable by different hair and wing colors. Harpies! Exterminator Force! the Harpies put their hands together making the shape of a triangle, which then turned into an X shaped blast that went right at Lighting Bat. The poor soul didn’t even have time to scream as he was vaporized by the attack.

No! This isn’t happening! Ice Lord! I command you… Maeve started to say but Karla interrupted her.

Sorry Maeve but as I said… this ends now! Dark Magician! Destroy Ice Lord! Dark Magic Attack! Karla commanded as her Magician finished off the last of Maeve’s monsters with a blast from his staff, totally obliterating the Ice Lord as if he was nothing at all.

No… this… this is impossible! Maeve shook her head, looking for a way to retreat as Karla started taking her steps toward her.

Its over Maeve. I’ve already shown that I am the superior of the two of us. Karla declared, Now it’s time to deliver to your punishment.

What? Maeve said in shock as Karla’s hand started to glow. On it was a crest. A crest that said ‘Queen of Hearts’ on it.

This is a little trick I picked up from a group of fighters in another world called the Shuffold Alliance. One of them taught me the secrets of his power, and I have found it useful. With that said, Karla began the incantation. This hand of mine glows with an awesome power! ITS BURNING GRIP TELLS ME TO DEFEAT YOU!!! Karla brought her hand forward and made ready to release her energy towards Maeve.

SHADOW FINGER!!! Karla’s hand fired off a massive amount of energy towards Maeve. Energy that enveloped her, and threw her back all across the palace… straight out her palace window.

Maeve had landed in a hay wagon, fortunately for her.

Within moments, Karla landed right beside her and looked down at the Temra queen. You have lost. Accept that and know that you will never win… oh and one more thing, Karla gave Maeve a right cross, knocking her out, That was for Deirdre. With that done Karla pulled her cards out and recalled her monsters back to their place of existence and vanished, leaving Maeve alone in the wagon.

She could only imagine what her troops would think once they returned.

Even though Maeve was not at the battle anymore Zedd still proved willing to lead the Temras. Taking his lead from atop Scorponok, Zedd told the soldiers Attack for your queen! LET NOTHING STOP YOU!!! The Temras readily obeyed and rallied against the Kells for one final strike. Vrellos even rallied his Redeemers together. Press on or face Destructor and his wrath! he shouted. The Redeemers quickly found their inspiration as they tried to press on

The Temras are coming together for another round! Garrett said. Get ready.

No wait. Sarah said touching Garrett’s shoulder. David stood by her side. Let us handle it. Garrett was about to ask if Sarah was nuts but T. J. nodded as if saying They can handle it. Garrett then said, All right go. And David and Sarah stood atop a hill looking down at the rallied, and surviving Temras.

YINNIGHT!!! Sarah shouted activating her morpher transforming into Gold Night.

YANGNIGHT!!! David shouted activating his morpher changing into Silver Night.

Both Night Rangers stood on the hillside looking down at the Temras. The fight has gone on long enough. Leave now and you won’t get hurt! Sarah said. The surviving Temra’s and Order forces refused. We’ll never give in! Divatox shouted.

Okay we did warn you. David said as he closed his eyes and the whole area seemed to be in chaos around the Temra’s. Winds were starting to swirl around them as well as the ground shaking and breaking up beneath them, as if the Earth was opening up. The Temras all of a sudden felt afraid as they feared the Earth would swallow them into the Underworld. The Temra’s fears started to escalate as they all panicked unexpectedly and ran away as fast as they could.

This however left the Order’s forces behind who sought to continue the fight. You don’t scare me! Deviot shouted, but he felt the whole ground around him calm down. All around him seemed calm, peaceful. Orderly. This was Sarah’s handiwork. For as David’s powers represented Chaos, Sarah’s aspects were those of Order. As Deviot stood distracted Sarah brought forth her blade and brought it down getting the strike against him. Deviot was knocked down and Sarah stood victorious.

The brother and sister then stood together ready to deliver their final strike. David called forth the forces of chaos as Sarah called forth her powers of order. All around the Temra’s the enviroment was out of their control, and they felt themselves falling as the ground beneath them collapsed and erupted around them. The Temras found themselves deep in a hole in the ground surrounded by Kells guards. David and Sarah stood above as Sarah said You think that’s impressive. You should see what we do come nighttime.

Me Grimlock say for Destrons to run away now. Or me get very mad and stomp you! The Destrons and the Order didn’t feel any anger or drive to move forward with an attack. Besides, the remaining Temra’s that weren’t caught by David and Sarah’s show of power had withdrawn. They were hopelessly outmatched. So they walked away from the battlefield. When the Destrons were gone Lara, Sara and Rohan stepped forward with Deirdre there with him. Father! she said running to Conchobar.

My daughter. You are safe. Conchobar said as he held his daughter tight. When the familial embrace was done Conchobar turned to his soldiers and said This day. We have victory!

VICTORY!!! the Kells forces shouted. Deirdre was by her father’s side as was Lara, Sara and Rohan.

Come on. Let’s go home. Rohan said. Everyone agreed.

Another reality away, Kenneth Irons was helped into a chair by his ‘son’. Ian watched his ‘master’ sit in that chair, only mere moments ago he had been in excruciating agony and pain. Yet now he was totally fine.

I asked before if this is what you expected Sara to go through. Was it? Ian asked.

I expected Sara to undertake the Periculum due to the extremities she would endure in this matter… Irons mused as he rubbed his right hand, But I never… he chuckled briefly as he ran his left hand through his hair, I never would have imagined this Ian.

Imagined what? Ian asked.

The Periculum is a trial and ordainity in which the wielder and the Witchblade become as one… but the blade itself, the soul within itself is left untouched. Left dormant and sleeping, A smile crept on Irons’s face, Fair Sara has awakeded the Blade Ian.

Ian stared at his employer with surprise betraying his looks, And you consider this to be a good thing for you? To have an enemy such as the Witchblade?

Not an enemy Ian… Irons smirked as he held up his right hand and there Ian could see the mark. The mark of the Witchblade that had been scared on Irons since he tried to wear the blade himself. It was no longer faint, it was scarlet now. My salvation. In fact… Irons got up out of the chair with ease, I’ve never felt better.

Ian was at a loss for words at the change in Kenneth Irons. His body language spoke bounds of his condition. ~ There are no signs of weakness now. No signs that his injections were losing their touch. What brought this about?~

By binding herself in such a way to the Witchblade, Sara Pezzini has unknowingly furthered my own link it. I’m beginning to see more Ian… more than even I ever dreamed possible, Irons smirked as he walked over his study. Do me a favor and clear out my callender for the next week. I want to be in silence enjoying.

Enjoying what exactly? Ian asked.

Irons simply smirked as he stared into the fireplace, which was burning brightly. The War to end all wars… the one that will come. A war where even Gods will play in… and that even Gods can die. It will be… magnificent.

At Kells castle a great celebration was taking place. A celebration for the greatest victory Kells had ever known. There was singing, dancing, and merriment all around the great hall.

T. J. and Cassie shared a dance together, as did Billy and Trini. Jason shared a dance with Lara Croft while Sara Pezzini shared a dance with Conchobar. David, Gront and Regar found maidens to dance with that Ivar and Garrett provided. The maidens were not at all horrified by Gront and Regar’s appearances, for they were now celebrated as heroes of Kells. David however couldn’t help but look around and wonder where Sarah was located. He didn’t have to look for too long as David saw Sarah on stage teaching Angus some dance moves that wouldn’t be invented for generations.

So who does these moves? They seem quite unusual. Angus said.

A great dancer and minstrel named Elvis Presley. Sarah said as she imitated Elvis’s dance moves hoping Angus would too. The more he tried however the funnier it looked. ~ So much for the new king of Rock and Roll~ she thought with an amused smile. David couldn’t help but smile at his sister’s antics. ~ Only you would try something that crazy. ~ he thought.

But Sarah wasn’t done yet as she talked with the band that played the music for the party. Sarah quickly let the members of the band know what type of song was to be sung and would follow her lead. Sarah then picked up a guitar like instrument and immediately began to sing a song no one would hear for hundreds of years.

It was ‘Searching my soul’ by Vonda Shepherd.

I’ve been down this road

Walkin’ the line that’s painted by pride

And I have made mistakes in my life

That I just can’t hide

Oh I believe I am ready for what love has to bring

Got myself together, now I’m ready to sing

I’ve been searching my soul tonight

I know there’s so much more to life

Now I know I can shine a light to find my way back home

No one knew what to make of the song that was being sung and even Jason asked David What’s she doing?

David could only shake his head as he said Just being herself. As Sarah continued to sing. Fortunately the band was able to keep up.

One by one the chains around me unwind

Every day now I feel that I can leave those years behind

Oh I’ve been thinking of you for a long time

There’s a side of my life where I’ve been blind and so

I’ve been searching my soul tonight

I know there’s so much more to life

Now I know I can shine a light

Everything’s going to be all right

I’ve been searching my soul tonight

Don’t wanna be alone in life

Now I know I can shine a light

To find my way back home

Baby I’ve been holding back now my whole life

I’ve decided to move on now

Gonna leave all my worries behind

Everyone then started to listen to the song and even though they liked it were confused by where it came from. David however was carrying on like I don’t know her. We’re not related. Even though they were.

Oh I believe I’ve been ready for what love has to give

Got myself together now I’m ready to live

I’ve been searching my soul tonight

I know there’s so much more to life

Now I know I can shine a light

Everything’s gonna be all right

I’ve been searching my soul tonight

Don’t wanna be alone in life

Now I know I can shine a light

To find a way back home

When the band finished the whole ball room then applauded as they indicated that they loved the song. David also joined in the applause and shook his head in disbelief over his sister’s musical number. Sarah that was beautiful. But don’t ever do it again.

You’re no fun. Sarah said as David noticed Rohan going up to Angus wanting to talk to him. Has you seen Deirdre? Rohan asked. Angus said, Yeah I saw her going down a spiral staircase. Said that she’d be back.

After Angus told him where it was Rohan went off in pursuit. He had no idea what Deirdre was up to, but he hoped it wasn’t something evil.

At the section of circular stairs that Conchobar had shown her, Deirdre looked down with a mixture of fear and apprehension. But she also felt a pull of some kind. Something compelling her to descend down the flight of stairs and face what was waiting for her. A call that struck her heart and her soul. A call she had to answer as she descended down the flight of stairs coming to another stone wall at the bottom of the stairs.

Deirdre pressed the stone slab on the right that enabled the door to open. She looked at the object waiting for her. A metal gauntlet with a jewel on the hand. This was the Witch’s Glove. It looked exactly like the one the woman that looked her mother had as it sat on a pedestal in the center of the room that Cathbad had left it in.

Deirdre walked slowly towards the gauntlet and picked it up. She marveled at the construction of the weapon. The steel. No indication was given as to how it could fold itself up into a bracelet. Looking at the blood red gem in the gauntlet, she felt something within. Something that made her feel and know deep within her soul that this was meant to be hers. It had always been meant to be hers.

As she stared into the gem, Deirdre saw images. Images of her mother fighting against a horde of soldiers and coming out triumphant. Images of her and her father as they fell in love, and she had to leave. Images of her birth, and that of Iona. And also images of something else.

Images of an armored warrior. Female with blood red eyes. A face unmoving. An aura of darkness mixed with an aura of light. A warrior Deirdre knew would be changed forever with the power of the Witch’s glove.

A warrior Deirdre knew to be herself.

And at that moment Deirdre knew what to do.

Deirdre put the Witchblade on and when she did everything changed.

The whole room started to erupt with silver and white light as the magic of the Witchblade mingled with the fairy magic of her Mystic armor. Deirdre felt like she was caught in a maelstrom as the whole room erupted around her. Then suddenly the malestrom cleared and Deirdre found herself in the realm of her own mind once again. And again someone was waiting for her.

Welcome Deirdre. A voice said off to the side. Deirdre turned and saw Cathain and another standing off to the background. Deirdre looked at the figure and saw who it was, or who it appeared to be. The face the other being had was Deirdre’s own. Who are you? Deirdre asked.

A reflection. A part of you. A part that you can become. ‘Deirdre’ said. Deirdre was totally confused by what her double was saying. Are you the Witch’s glove?

Yes. ‘Deirdre’ said. I’m also an aspect of you. An aspect that can come into being once you accept me.

Accept you? Deirdre asked. Like Sara had done?

Yes. ‘Deirdre’ said. By accepting you will be more free than you can imagine. You will be able to defend your home against Maeve and all that seek to conquer Kells. Deirdre however asked her counterpart At what price?

This was a reasonable question, and ‘Deirdre’ answered it. The price is that you must let go. Let go of childish things. Attitudes, material things, you must rise above it all and embrace the warrior in you in order for the princess to emerge.

But I am already a princess. Deirdre said.

In name and blood only. ‘Deirdre’ said. Not in heart and soul. For that princess to be born you must undergo many more trials. Only now by becoming the Mystic Knight of Air have you begun your journey. By accepting me you begin your next step.

But what of Garrett? What of my friends? ‘Deirdre’s’ answer was Your friends will be there with you. But Garrett is not your future.

WHAT?! Deirdre shouted in shock. What do you mean Garrett is not my future?

I see many paths to your destiny. And in those paths Prince Garrett’s destiny lies not with you. Rather your destiny lies with another. Deirdre listened to her counterpart’s words and wondered Is it with Rohan?’Deirdre’ didn’t answer rather she said, I accept you. Do you accept me?

Deirdre considered her counterpart’s words. There was so much to think about, yet so little time to think it in. She was surprised that her future may not involve Garrett. But she also knew Maeve would be on the attack again soon. For the sake of Kells there was only one choice to make.

I accept. Deirdre said. ‘Deirdre’ smiled and stood before her new wielder.

I accept you. You are my new wielder. ‘Deirdre’ said as Deirdre returned to the real world and her mystic armor was suddenly activated. Parts of her armor appeared as the white seemed to become darker, and metal sleeves started to go down her legs and arms covering them completely. The sleeves covering in a form-fitting manner. Deirdre also felt the same metal go across her face as the magic filled her soul, altering that as well.

No longer would she be considered a spoiled little princess. What she would become now would be something entirely different. And Deirdre knew Rohan would be the first to know as she heard him shout her name as he descended down the stairs.

DEIRDRE! Rohan shouted as he entered the room where he knew she had gone into. The lightning had gone down and Rohan was able to walk in. He saw the entire room scorched and burned as waves of power appeared to have struck it. And he also saw something else. Something he couldn’t believe.

I’m alright Rohan. He heard her say… or rather, Rohan heard Deirdre’s voice coming from the figure that was now in the room. By Dagda… he gasped as he looked at the definitely female figure. Looking at her closer, he saw it resembled the armor of the Mystic Knight of Air, except the entire body was covered and anything that had been white was now silver-gray in color. The helmet covered her head completely, however unlike the Ranger’s helmets, her helmet’s face was shaped to her own face, though where the eyes were to be were two red ruby colored slits.

But the face that the helmet had was one Rohan couldn’t ever mistake, … Deirdre? What have you done to yourself?

Accepted my birthright… and my destiny, the Witchblade enhanced Mystic Knight of Air said. Rohan heard Deirdre’s voice and it was completely changed. It seemed colder somehow, more assured. None of the air of superiority Deirdre sported before. This was a new Deirdre and it scared Rohan.

Deirdre transformed back into her normal attire and Rohan was able to look at her better. Her bearing, her stature, all of that had changed. Even the look on her face was that of calm assurance. Deirdre. What destiny is worth you changing yourself so completely?

The destiny my mother had passed down. For all her daughters of each generation to take up. It is my turn now. Time to put that destiny to use in the fight against Temra. Rohan asked Deirdre, But at what cost? What price do you pay to make yourself what you are now?

Deirdre didn’t answer that question. She just ascended back up the stairs leaving a stunned look on Rohan’s face. It was a good few minutes before Rohan could climb the stairs and follow Deirdre.

At Temra Castle, Dominique lay being attended to by the healers. Many of them wondered if they would ever heal, but they would. Domonique would see to that. As she rest Domonique felt the presence of the Witch’s Glove, and its activation. She knew Deirdre had claimed her birthright, and knew that she had been changed when she did.

She has accepted the blade! NO!!! Domonique shouted as she came out of her shock. She craved the power of the Witchblade, and now it seemed like another obstacle was thrown in her face. Torc was also another who didn’t care for the news that Deirdre had claimed the Witchblade, seeing as how the blade was responsible for breaking the standstill in his battle with Rohan. If the witch had not interferred he would have finished Rohan was how Torc saw the situation.

The powers of the Dark Knight are immpressive my queen. If the witch had not interferred Rohan would have fallen. Torc said.

Do not worry Torc. I intend that you get another chance. Maeve said. Torc was already looking forward to it.

Scorponok was outside undergoing repairs under Finster’s direction. The Destron was almost back to full operation. Soon it would be ready for battle again. Maeve however was very dissapointed after her defeat at Karla’s hands. And her rage was evident of that fact.

THAT WITCH!!! Maeve shouted. How did she acquire so much power? And Mider, your monsters were useless against her. Why did you not tell me of these ‘Shadow Games’?

I swear my queen I didn’t know of those until now!Nor did I know of the powers she possessed. Maeve brushed Mider off and said, If I am going to face this witch again I will be in need of more power. Power unheard of.

That can be arranged. A voice said from around the halls of the ruined castle. In the center of the room swirled black and red smoke with flashes of lightning taking place. The smoke then cleared and with a flash of lightning stood the ominous image of Destructor who looked around at the surroundings. Vrellos quickly bowed as Maeve wondered who the fearsome image before her was.

My dear Queen Maeve, may I present to you the mighty Destructor. Lord of the Order of Destruction. Desturctor however wasn’t one for pleasantries and he got quickly to the point. I see the forces have dealt with another failure.

There was a major battle. Torc said. And I fear that the Kells have obtained the object of power you seek. Destructor kept his cool however and kept his attention focused on Maeve. My offer still stands. Would you not care to accept?

I would be honored, if it helps to defeat that witch! Maeve said. Zedd then appeared and said Scorponok is ready to go.

Then let us all depart. Destructor said as the Order, Maeve and Mider all left the Temra castle. The fight was about to go onto a whole new battlefield.

Back in the palace hall the celebration was still taking place when Deirdre and Rohan appeared. The other Mystic Knights looked at her and right away saw a change in her. Garrett went to her side and asked if she was okay. I’m fine Garrett. In fact I’ve never felt better. She said with a soft cool tone. This chilled Garrett as the tone still had some warmth to it, yet it was chilled so that it was unnerving to Garrett. The other Knights also saw her, and the change in her, as they wondered what happened.

She’s taken up her mother’s legacy, and it’s mixed in with her powers. Rohan said. Angus quickly asked what it meant for the Mystic Knights. Rohan answered, I don’t know. Just then Deirdre came up to Rohan’s side and asked, May I have this dance?

This surprised Rohan even further. Never before had Deirdre asked Rohan to dance. It was considered to be a breach in royal protocol. ~ Why would she ask now?~ . Nevertheless Rohan accepted the invitation. Part of him always wondered what it would have been like to dance with her. So Rohan led her to the middle of the ballroom floor and they started to dance together. As they danced they talked.

Deirdre what has come over you? You’re so different now.

Deirdre nodded at Rohan’s assessment. I’m not going to lie to you Rohan and say that I’m still the same Deirdre I always was. I’m not anymore. But accepting the Witch’s Glove was something I had to do. For Kells and for myself.

For yourself? Rohan asked.

I never really got to know my mother. Deirdre explained. The glove was my only connection to her. And when I put it on my eyes opened. I saw how I was so spoiled back then. Flaunting my title as if I was owed a favor by everyone. Looking down on them even though I still fought for my people. When I put the glove on I realized how pathetic it was to act like that. I guess Angus was right.

Pathetic? No you were just being… you. Rohan said.

Deirdre smiled. Well now I’m a new me. And I hope you come to like her. She reached forward and planted a soft kiss on Rohan’s lips then resumed dancing. There were gazes from other dancers nearby wondering how Deirdre could act that way. Two of them being Sara and Conchobar. What was that? Conchobar asked.

I think I know. Sara said as she and Conchobar saw the bracelet on Deirdre’s wrist as well as how she stood. Cathbad as well noticed the change in her, but Sara and Conchobar knew what the bracelet on Deirdre’s wrist meant. She had claimed her version of the Witchblade. Conchobar looked at Cathbad as if wondering what this meant. Cathbad had a look in his eyes saying, I don’t know.

Sure enough the party ended and the guests dispersed. All but one who stood off to the side in her red and black armor. When Conchobar saw her she was given immediate attention. Well Quantum Knight. What brings you here to Kells? Conchobar asked. The Matrix team and Mystic Knights stood by Conchobar wondering the same thing.

To tell you who I am, and why I’m here. the Quantum Ranger said as she then took off her helmet. Behind it was a woman no older than 21. She had brown hair and blue eyes. My name is Jennifer Summers. I was born in San Francisco, California on January 21… 2979 AD.

San Francisco? Billy asked. Are you from the future?

Yes and no. ‘Jen’ said. I was part of a organization known as Time Force in another reality in the far future. We were to stop time criminals from altering the past. The worst of them all was a mutant known as Ransik.

Everyone sat and listened for ‘Jen’ to tell her story. We were cordoning off a block where Ransik was held up. We went to make the arrest but Ransik was holding off all attempts at arrest. Finally we called in our Red Ranger. The best Time force officer we ever had. Alex Collins.

These ‘officers’. Were they knights like yourself? Ivar asked.

Alex was kind of a ‘knight’. ‘Jen’ explained. Only the best could become Time Force Rangers. Other officers had their strengths, but they were kind of like your palace guard. Conchobar nodded understanding what ‘Jen’ was saying then let her continue her story. Alex came in and took out the remaining of Ransik’s gang, then made the arrest. He was put on trial and sentenced. My friends Katie, Trip, Lucas and I were assigned escort duty to take him to prison. On the way there however we were ambushed.

Ransik had his daughter Nadira feign an injury and arranged an escape for Ransik. We went after him to the… prison he was to be sent to. Sarah then said, It’s a big dungeon. ‘Jen’ smiled at Sarah’s remark and then continued.

Alex was called in again and fought Ransik. Unfortunately he didn’t defeat him as he did last time. Ransik struck him down, and was laid out dying. Alex gave us his morpher and where to get the other four Chrono Morphers. We went in pursuit of Ransik to Silver Hills in the year 2001. I became the Pink Time Force Ranger. A tone of sadness was in her voice as if that moment was both a blessing and a curse for her.

Back in the time we went to we met Alex’s ancestor. His name was Wes Collins. We needed him to unlock the powers of the Red morpher, which would unlock the other powers. We did so, and despite a rocky start Wes went on to become a great Red Ranger. On the way we also met another great fighter who fought alongside us from time to time. His name was Eric Meyers, the original Quantum Ranger. Jen paused for a second as she remembered Eric. He may have started out a jerk, but she found he was a great ally as well as a good person underneath all that attitude and bitterness. Then the tone in her speech became somber.

However in the end, we betrayed. Betrayed by someone we thought a hero and was dead… Alex. Jen continued her story though it was starting to become harder for her to tell it, Alex had been manipulating events from the start in order to try to save his life. Some time ago he found out it was his destiny to be the Quantum Ranger, and he knew he would die in a battle with Frax. He wanted to change that from happening, so he made sure Eric would be the Quantum Ranger in his place. Trip, Lucas, Katie and I tried to stop Alex before he finished his work… Jen felt the tears starting to come down her face. But we were too late. Alex had finished everything. Millions of people died or no longer existed to keep our future in tact and Alex alive… but Wes and Eric ended up among the dead in 2001. Alex… was dealt with shortly after. Jen paused before continuing. I couldn’t stay in 3000 anymore. I lost everything thanks to Alex… the man I once loved… and the one I loved that he took from me… Wes.

So what happened next? David asked.

I wandered. I took Eric’s Quantum Morpher and wandered the time streams, which led me to wandering to alternate dimensions. Jen said which was a good portion of the truth. In my travels I picked up a lot of odds and ends to help me as I fought threats that were a danger to reality. Power down! Jen demorphed and wore something looking like a peasant garb. But then she spun around like a model and her clothes changed to a black leather jacket, a red v-neck shirt, and plaid mini-skirt. A click of her heels changed her peasant shoes into black knee-length boots. Regar asked, Do you get dizzy doing that?

Jen smiled a little then raised her hand up high into the air. Regar was astonished to find himself hovering in the room, and all the people were surprised at this as well. When she put Regar down Jen turned to the others and said, That’s only a fraction of what I can do. A bare fraction.

All right. So what do you want now? Sarah asked. Why are you here?

I’ve been watching you. I know you are looking to find the Matrixes so you can stop whatever it is the Order of Destruction has in mind. Also bear in mind that the Order has recruited Maeve and Mider to their cause. If she brings back any of their power Kells will be destroyed within a second if we don’t stop her. Jen said.

How do you know this? Rohan asked. Jen’s answer came when she turned herself into a falcon again and flew around the room. Everyone was astonished by this action, including Cathbad who said Animal transformation is one of the most advanced skills in all of sorcery. And she has mastered it?

I think I’ve seen that bird before. I think it was watching us. Rohan said watching Karla the falcon fly. When she landed on a chair Jen changed back to human form as she sat on the chair cross-legged. As I said, there’s a lot I can do.

We have to stop Maeve. Rohan said. If she brings back more evil from the Order there may be no stopping her.

Agreed. Deirdre replied.

Count me in. Angus added.

I’m with you. Ivar said.

I’ll fight too. Garrett said. Then everyone turned to Jen as Sarah stepped forward looking her in the eye. Jen noticed some apprehension in her, as if Sarah KNEW that Jen wasn’t telling her the whole story. But Sarah also knew that Jen was an ally they couldn’t refuse.

You need my help. You have it. Jen said shaking Sarah’s hand. Sarah answered with Welcome aboard.

Now all we have to do is find the Matrix. Wherever it is. Jason said. Just then Cathbad appeared. Fin Varrah wishes to see the Knights, and our guests. Aidee was by his side confirming Fin Varrah’s request.

Let’s go. Rohan said as the Knights followed him. The Matrix team also followed as Sarah whispered to her David Keep an eye on Jen. I don’t think she’s evil, but there is something she’s not telling us. David nodded as he passed the word on to Jason and the others. If Jen heard the whispers, she didn’t let on that she did.

But then Jen has been used to distrust in her role as Karla.

The Mystic Knights, and Matrix team were led down into the caverns of Tir Na Nog. Anyone who had a transector however left it behind since they would not have fit in the opening to the kingdom. As they made their way down some of them were in awe of what they saw. Impressive. Gront had said

I know what you mean. A kingdom of magic. Billy added.

Kind of like in ‘A Midsummer night’s Dream’ isn’t it? Lara added making reference to the Shakespeare play. Soon they found their way to the main chamber where Fin Varrah sat taking in the visitors before him. Hmmm. Impressive. However your ability to hold back magic concerns me. Those metal monsters you work with do trouble me.

Your majesty. We mean no trouble. Jason said. We’re just looking for out Matrix and then we’ll leave.

And we’ll be going with them Fin Varrah. Deirdre said. Fin Varrah looked at Deirdre and felt a change in her. A change that indicated that he shouldn’t do anything rash, like turning everyone into Sprickets. He also felt that same aura from David and Sarah, Sara Pezzini and from Jen. Why will you go? Fin Varrah asked.

To keep Maeve from bringing back anymore power that could threaten the kingdom. Rohan answered. Maeve and Mider are going with the Order to hopefully get more power. If that happens

Say no more. Follow me. Fin Varrah got out of his throne and led everyone to a set of double doors, which opened. Inside was an object shining throughout the room for all to see. I believe you are looking for that! Fin Varrah said in the magic chamber, pointing up to the glowing blue ball shining its power for all to see.

You had it all this time? T. J. asked.

Well I like shiny things. Plus I had to make sure your hearts were pure in order to claim its power. Fin Varrah explained. I sensed the purity from it and I know that only those of pure heart can claim its power. Jason nodded and said A wise precaution.

At any rate. Take it and leave. The Matrix team and Mystic Knights did so as they carried the heavy object out of the chamber and up to the waiting Cybertrons. Jason felt something within the power calling him, but decided that he would figure that out later. When they reached the top Pointblank brought the Matrix into Fortress Maximus and soon everyone boarded. Once onboard the Mystic Knights were surprised. Never had they seen a ship like Fortress Maximus.

By Dagda! Rohan said. Lara and Sara were also surprised, but not as surprised as the Mystic Knights who felt like they stepped into a whole new world. And this is only the beginning. Cassie added.

The Matrix Team had passed the first step. Now comes the second.

To prepare for the great battle. But before that could be done they had to say goodbye to Conchobar and Cathbad. Flying to a deserted spot where the King was waiting Conchobar said his goodbyes to his knights, especially Deirdre.

Take care daughter. I’ll always love you. Conchobar said to her daughter. Deirdre gave her father a hug goodbye and Rohan smiled. Perhaps there was something of the old Deirdre left in her after all. Conchobar then said goodbye to Sara. I wish you were my wife. You’re so much like her.

But I’m not. Sara answered. Cathain was of this time. I’m from another. Jen couldn’t help but look at the scene and be reminded of her own goodbye of Wes. A small tear streaked down her eye, which she wiped away. Nearby, Cathbad said goodbye to Rohan. Take care Rohan. Return soon and swift.

We will. Rohan said. Cathbad also looked at Angus and added. Return soon thief. Angus was momentarily taken aback when he noticed Cathbad’s smirk. Clearly he meant the word as a term of endearment that time. He stood by Conchobar’s side and waved to all the warriors, Tomb Raider, Blade Wielder, Power Ranger, Rogues, Night Rangers, Cybertrons, Mystic Knights, hoping that they would stop Maeve and return soon.

They all boarded Fortress Maximus which took to the sky and left this plane of reality.

The Nexus

Destructor was pleased at the acquisitions of Maeve and Mider to his forces. Now he has a source of fairy magic to counter the Matrix teams’. However he noticed Mirabilis standing off to the side looking over the images of the Quantum Ranger that were sent back.

What is bothering you Mirabilis? Destructor asked.

The Quantum Ranger is supposed to be a man called Eric Meyers. Mirabilis said to Destructor. If this one is a woman then this could be the Quantum Ranger I’ve heard rumors of. A lone wolf seeking to stop all those who threaten the innocent. This Quantum Ranger has laid waste to many beings of darkness.

Destructor paused considering Mirabilis’s words before saying, Perhaps it is time to bring this conflict to a head.

Mirabilis nodded but he left out one piece of information. He didn’t say that he knew who the new Quantum Ranger was.

He didn’t say that the Quantum Ranger was his own mistress, Karla.

Elsewhere in the Nexus, the Four Lords of Havok were meeting amongst themselves, particually talking to one that had not been allowed to join the final Order team as their leader had done.

Destructor thought the situation was in capable hands considering who was sent. The Empress had said to them. We shall not make any move to say otherwise. I do not doubt your skills… but we have already had two … setbacks.

The setbacks in question were the mission to eliminate Jeff Kincaid and Sharon Lanrydan, which was only saved from total failure by the fact that Neji Yellow had been able to bring forth a new member to her team and thus to the Order. Star Vypra herself was not happy with her own performance, though she was not the commander of that mission. A large part of the failure of that mission could be attributed to the interferance of Tracy Darknight, Trakeena’s human half who should have been eliminated if only two Tek’lathla had not allowed their indulgences to get the better of them.

Still, the fact that the last of the Four Lords had not been able to participate into battle angered her. Espcially considering the world that the last matrix was on was a magical one. An area she excelled in better than all of the other Lords. Each of the four lords of Havok had their own speciality. Obsidian was the swordsman, Tasha was the ninja mistress, Star Vypra was the one with the most raw power among them. Kartia was the sorceress of their group.

You will have your chance to fight soon enough, Star Vypra told her.

The Thunder Empress stood in the back of the room. None of the Lords ever saw her out of her armor at all. Obisdian would occasionally take his helmet off during a closed door meeting or in his (and Star Vypra’s) own quarters but Kartia never did. She was dressed in the silver-black armor that covered her from head to toe, with a black cape with red lining inside attached to her shoulder guards. Attached to her side was a black sword, one that all of the Lords felt a bit of unease around, espically when drawn. The only thing that they had ever seen were her left silver eye and some times where her right eye was, a glint of gold. Her head lifted as she spoke, How can they even consider that human trash to be of any use to us?

If you are referring to Maeve, I think you better keep that opinion to yourself. Obsidian stated, We don’t need any problems to occur.

She is human and foolish. Always taking shortcuts to power. It’s why she is weak. Kartia returned as she walked towards the door.

Where are you going? Tasha asked.

To get some air. I feel I need it. Kartia replied as she left the room. She didn’t want to even think of Maeve as she walked down the hallway.

Unfortunately for her, she bumped into the person she didn’t wish to think of.

Ough! Watch where you are going you imbicile! the Temra Queen snapped.

~ I don’t have time to waste listening to her banter. ~ Out of my way. Kartia told her.

How dare you even speak to me like that? Do you know who I am! Maeve growled.

~ Someone who is about five seconds away from being blown to hell if you continue to annoy me. ~ Kartia thought to herself as she shoved right past Maeve.

RAGH!!! What is this! First Princess Deirdre, then that bitch Karla and now that armored woman! Does every woman think they are better than me! Maeve snapped.

~ … WHAT?!~ Kartia froze in her tracks when she heard that name. ~ It can’t… it can’t be… or is it… Looking at the fuming Queen she mused, ~ Perhaps she might be worth some of my time after all. ~ Tell me something, did this ‘Karla’ call herself the Grey Witch?

What? Maeve asked turning around, You know that witch?

It all depends on what this ‘Karla’ you speak of looked liked. Kartia returned, Describe her attire for me. Maeve did so, describing her first as the Quantum Ranger but when she described the sorceress wear, Kartia’s face tensed, especially when Maeve said she was wearing a golden circlet. The sash was a new touch, but she wasn’t surprised that she had a different body though. It fit the witch perfectly. Maeve also described the battle to Kartia, the details of which surprised her. ~ It would seem she’s grown a sence of humor, a twisted one at that. ~ If her helmet was off though, Maeve would have seen the chesire grin that was forming, ~ But I’m very intrigued in the fact that she has played the Shadow Games. Very intrigued. ~

Well if you have nothing further to say, I have things to do. Maeve started. ~ I just need to find Mider. With all that the Order has given to us perhaps he has… ~

He won’t have found anything about the Shadow Games. Mainly because even Destructor himself has no idea about them.

… what? Maeve blinked as she had heard Kartia speak, almost as if she had just read her mind.

You’re probably wondering how I know that. Well, the Shadow Games are very powerful and restricted to only a handful of alternate diamensions as far as where they can be found, however they can be played and used almost everywhere. The power of the games effect depends on the user mind you. If they are normal humans, then the game will take on no special powers and just be a simple playing card game. Kartia explained, But with magic users, the monsters are able to come to life. The more powerful the user, the more powerful monsters he or she can summon.

And how do you know this? Maeve asked.

Kartia chuckled as she materialized, to Maeve’s shock, a deck of cards just like the ones she saw Karla have. Because I too play the Shadow Games. I can teach you the Games. Teach you the rules of the games, build you a deck to use to challenge Karla to a real Shadow Game.

Real Shadow Game? Maeve asked.

When your opponent doesn’t have a Shadow Deck, the opponent will more often than not be defeated. But when both players have decks, they are bound to the rules of the Shadow Games, and will play according to its rules, Kartia stated, her voice sounding soothing and saying what Maeve wanted to know and hear, And the winner of the duel may decide the fate of the loser.

Decide… how? Maeve asked.

That’s the beauty of it… Kartia smirked, You can decide any fate at all to your opponent. Anything.

The wheels in Maeve’s mind were turning as she heard this. By letting Kartia teach her the games, she could gain her own deck, and this time when she faced Karla, she knew she would emerge triphmant. ~ And my punishment to her will be to strip her of all her powers and have them become my own. I’ll make her grovel and beg for mercy before I end her life. ~ She looked at Kartia for a moment before smirking, . ~ And when I have done that, I’ll challenge this rude woman as well and do exactly the same thing. Increasing my power and making me the greatest sorceress that ever existed. ~

So I take it you wish to know the Games. At Maeve’s smirk, Kartia spoke again, Meet me in the library hall in two hours. We will begin then. I have to get certain items before we start.

Agreed. I will see you then. Maeve left the Thunder Empress alone, gloating herself. ~ Soon… soon all of this power will be mine!!!~

But Kartia just smirked under helmet and if Maeve had turned around she would have seen the golden glow from where her right eye should bee. ~ You stupid fool. You really think I don’t know what your plans are? Your mind is an open book to me with my powers. Powers not even my ‘Empress’ knows of. I serve her now because it was something to do to make me forget the past for a while… ~ Her smirk turned into a scowl as her fists clenched. Her rage was building, ~ But appearently the past does not stay dead… at least not you Karla. After all this time you are still taking bodies to play your sick game. Well the forces of light might actually like what I’m going to do, but I’m not doing it for them. I’m doing this for myself. I’ll let Maeve gain a ‘modest’ level of mastery of the game, but I know where to cut off her lessons. She thinks she is the master and I am the pawn. No. She has that backwards. She will be my pawn to test you, to see that you really are the Grey Witch. And when I know that you are… She slammed her right hand against the wall and left a small indentation.

~ You will face a true master of the Shadow Games. I will challenge you Karla and when I have crushed you, I’ll banish you the Shadow Realm for all of eternity and there not even you will ever be able to escape damnation! You will pay Karla! YOU WILL PAY!!!~ Kartia vowed as she went to her room, her rage never lessoning. She wanted it to be that way.

She wanted to let Karla know exactly who it was that finally ended her terrible existence… and see the look on her face once she saw who it was.

Shadow Palace

Inside the museum of lost worlds there were two statues. They stood side by side representing the worlds that were lost. One from a distant past, another from a distant future. One was a princess, another was a criminal.

Then the actions of the Matrix team took place, and the actions of one lost universe never occurred. Reality shifted and a new set of consequences began to take shape. What those consequences would be no one knew yet, but it was clear that Princess Deirdre would not become the Stone Princess once again. This clarity came due to the statue of Deirdre as it disappeared from its podium. Erased from existence.

The only statue that now stood was that of Contemptra. Her expression would never change unless her mistress sought to change it. But if one would look at her eye one could notice a tear falling down her face. A tear reflecting the loneliness she would now feel.

A loneliness that may last forever.

In the time stream of another reality a figure sits contemplating a presence. A presence that is powerful, yet familiar as well.

He stood from his command chair casting a glance at four tiny statues sitting off to the side. One in particular since the presence reminded him of the figure imprisoned inside. Walking over to it he picked it up studying the small female figure.

When he knew her she always had her hair tied back and wore a white time force uniform. But now when the figure looked at the girl imprisoned within the tiny block of ice he saw that her beauty was highlighted more than ever as the twenty-first century clothes revealed more than the uniform code of Time Force permitted. Her brown hair was out of its ponytail touching her shoulders. Her face and eyes appeared to be more highlighted and softer by the change in hairstyle. The white pants were replaced by a plaid mini-skirt which had shown off her legs which the figure knew were regarded as a favorite feature among twentieth century men when they admired women. Her face was frozen in an expression of betrayal, shock and sadness as microscopic tears seemed to be frozen in place on the girl’s face.

~ How had it come to this?~ the male figure known as Alex Collins asked himself as he stared at the tiny figure of Jennifer Summers frozen in a small capsule little more than an inch or two high. Alex knew the answer. At first it had been for his own survival, to ensure Ransik would die and that he would live. But then his friends were perceived as a threat to the future and he had to deal with them. A future Alex alone envisioned.

To that end Alex activated bombs in the mutants at Ransik’s prison as well as in the Time Force Megazord. The mutants were defeated, and the Time Force Rangers had to confront Alex who had come back to deal with the Rangers personally. Alex’s energy was sustained by a flawed version of the Zeo Crystal, but when Wes Collins tried to have Jen kill him all that was gained was Wes’s death, and a crushing wave of betrayal to Jen. And even though Alex enjoyed Jen’s tears there was still business for him to conduct. Aiming a weapon at the four surviving Time Force Rangers he encased them in blocks of ice and reduced them down to the size of small capsules. Alex took them as trophies and begun a project to construct a fortress vessel in Silver Hills after driving Bio Lab out of business, and Mr. Collins to his death.

Silver Hills was then destroyed when Alex took to the timestream. In his travels he had come across other powers he could use to add to his own, and to extend his own life. And from the timestream came ways into other realities as well providing him with more power and knowledge than even he could have been aware of. And in his travels he felt the presence. The presence of power. The presence of a woman he knew.

The presence of Jen.

But that was impossible. Jen was right here. In his hand. A trophy that he collected. An object he could admire. Yet the presence was reminiscent of Jen’s.

Regardless of who’s presence it was Alex thought it best to be prepared. To that end he sought the aid of the former King of Hearts. He who was the Undefeated of the East-Master Asia. Winner of the Gundam Fight for Neo Hong Kong.

Master Asia had taught Alex much, even though the knowledge Master Asia had would do him no good later on. Alex however had plenty of use for what Master Asia knew, especially a technique he felt the presence use many times. As Alex felt energy build in his right hand he saw the other three trophies sitting on the podium nearby. Alex sought to release that energy against those three who were now targets.

DARKNESS FINGER!!! Alex shouted as a terrible wave of evil energy erupted from him destroying the podium and sent the tiny statues of Katie, Lucas and Trip flying around the room. Nothing however remained of the podium they rested on. Soon Alex reassembled all his ‘trophies’ together but his gaze remained focused on Jen. Who are you and why do you remind me of Jen? he asked the presence he felt, yet stared at Jen.

A light then started to blink on the console before him, and then Alex set the Jen figurine down before he pressed a set of keys. He then turned to see a form standing on a platform that projected its image. It wore a mask that looked very majestic, wore robes and had a badge on his chest as if reflecting a symbol of rank. The image then addressed itself to Alex.

Are things going well? the creature asked.

As well as can be expected. Alex answered. Although I did feel the presence of Rassilon’s chosen again.

Yes. Whoever he chose could well be a problem to both of us. The creature said. You have still been building your powers?

Yes. Combined with the knowledge you have taught me I continue to grow stronger. If Rassilon’s chosen appears I will deal with them when the time is right.

Do not be so rash my apprentice. The creature said. Many times I have tried to be rash in my escape from my imprisonment only to be stopped at every turn. When our power and knowledge are at its peak we will have both ensured our very existence.

And if we don’t? Alex asked. The creature paused a moment before answering. Then the universe shall suffer for our torment. For now resume your aquireings of power. When the time is right we shall make our final step.

I understand Omega. Alex signed off on the communication and the image faded. He then thought about how he had met the renegade Time Lord who was the first and greatest of his civilization, only to be abandoned by those he sought to give mastery of time.

Alex had come across the gateway to dimensions, the Arc of Infinity, which was also used as a bridge between the worlds of matter and anti-matter. Alex felt a presence call him into the arc and Alex answered the call.

Once inside Alex found a whole world created around him, a world created by the will of a single being. A being known as Omega. Alex had heard rumors about a being named Omega in the Time Force files, but thought nothing of them. However when the being appeared before him Alex found out the legend was all too real.

Omega had told Alex his story, about how he had arranged the supernova explosion that was supposed to supply the Time Lords with the power to begin time travel. However Omega was caught in the explosion and believed to be dead, only to find that he was still alive and existing in a world of anti-matter. Abandoned and alone.

Omega had sworn revenge against the Time Lords for abandoning him. He made two attempts only for them all to be thwarted by the Doctor. And in each of those attempts to return to the world of matter had met with failure. In that failure however Omega decided that if he could not live in the world of matter, then no one could. Twice he sought to unleash his anti-matter being in the universe in hopes of destroying it, twice the Doctor stopped him.

In Alex, Omega saw an opportunity. He knew Alex had plans of his own, but Omega saw an opportunity to include himself in those plans. Alex figured that perhaps Omega might try to destroy the universe again if he’s unable to cross over, but Alex fought to ensure his own survival ever since Ransik cut him down. Alex accepted Omega’s opportunity, yet also made sure to include an escape plan into another dimension if Omega decided that ‘all things must be destroyed’ once again.

To that end Omega taught Alex all that he knew about time travel and whatever else he knew. Alex accepted the knowledge gladly, and when Alex’s training was done Alex returned through the Arc to the world of matter. Omega maintained contact with him ready to offer any guidance his pupil would need. For Omega knew that while he might have his own pupil, he suspected that his old ‘friend’ Rassilon might have a pupil of his own as well. Who that pupil was neither of them knew, yet.

Alex felt he would know soon. Right now there were other matters that demanded his attention. Even though he knew the presence would be involved in the I. D. War Alex saw no reason to involve himself in that. He still had much power and knowledge of his own to acquire.

And then, when he was at the height of his power, he would face this presence and deal with it accordingly. Alex looked forward to that day as he let his hand rest on a deck of cards he himself kept close by. A deck that was created from his own participation in the Shadow Games.

A participation he hoped to put to the test someday.

Across the gulfs of space he traveled. Revenge being the only thing on his mind.

Finally he came to his destination, or at least the doorway to his destination.

Sitting in the gulfs of space was a portal. A portal that led to a junction point in all of existence. A portal that led to the Nexus, where the Order of Destruction lay.

Where Galvatron would take his revenge against all that betrayed him. And with single minded bloodlust Galvatron took his ship through the portal eager to have his moment of vengeance.
